The ATL
It’s hard describe the conflict in my heart for the city of Atlanta. My therapist says you can hold two opposing feelings at once, Love & Hate.
I love this city that raised me, but I also hate its existence for what it’s taken from me and my family. I know the dark side of Atlanta, and I’ve seen light pour through, sometimes in the same day.
It’s a rough place to call home when I was growing up in survival mode. When making this bracelet I could feel the rugged lava beads in my hands. Lava beads absorb essentials oils into each crevice, it’s a healing stone.
Love continues to take over the rough parts of my life, and will continue to do so.
Every other bead is smooth. It has a unique look and also sits nexts to the rough ones. Atlanta is where I was born. It’s where my birth mother, brother and sister continue to live. It’s where I met Erin (God Mom).
It’s a place that haunts me but also gives me hope.
